July Book Haul

8:30:00 PM

I feel like I say this every month, but where is the time going? WHERE? It's the end of another month, so let's talk about all the books I purchased, some of which I actually read!

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes was a book I saw on my twitter/tumblr/instagram countless times without ever stopping to read the synopsis. So when I stumbled on it in the bookstore, I figured I had to see what all the fuss was about. Turns out the hype was justified -- this book is amazing, and you can hear me rave more about it here!

I stopped by the used bookstore (again) and bought some old editions of two books I've been wanting to read for absolutely ages: Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

Because I have no self-control, I also bought Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot while I was there. It's the purchase I'm most excited about this month, because I have never seen or heard of this book of poems (have you been hiding it from me?!), but mostly because this book cover speaks to my soul in ways I can't explain to a sane person.

But wait, there's more! No, it's not a set of steak knives...it's the ebooks I purchased this month! I purchase most ebooks through Nook because I usually discover things I've been wanting to read through their Daily Find program - I rarely pay full price for an ebook (I much prefer to have the physical copy if I'm going to spend the money) but I love the portability of ebooks - if I have my phone, I have a book with me.

This month, I bought The Unraveling of Mercy Louis by Keija Parssinen, Bright Young Things by Anna Godbersen, The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood (which I talked about here), Leaving Amarillo by Caisey Quinn (which I talked about here), and Rules of Seduction by Jenna Mullins (which I included in my Find Me Book Tag).

I've purchased a lot of books the last couple months, but it's like this:

Have you read any of the books I bought? What books did you buy this month? Let me know down below!
