2016 Reading Challenge

Some people have New Year's Resolutions. Others have reading challenges.

Each year, book lovers around the world set goals for the number of books they'll read. If you're like me, you probably have no idea how many books you read in a year. Maybe, if you're a member of a book club, you keep track of the number of books you read that way. But of course, as more organized (and tech savvy) bibliophiles know, there's an app for that.

Goodreads provides a place for readers to set a goal, monitor their progress, and - of course - get recommendations from other readers. It's a way for people to expose themselves to new books and new people while holding themselves accountable for finding the time to read. It pushes them to become the best version of themselves. Basically, it's my sport. And yes, I do realize how incredibly silly that sounds.

If you're interested in joining the challenge, it's not too late! All you have to do is pick a goal and get started (all you have to do is backdate the books you've read already!).
